Empowering vision,
guiding excellence.
AIMS isn’t a firm with departments and account managers handing your file down a chain. It’s the independent survey practice of one person: Ali Idrissi. Every instruction that comes in, every vessel boarded, every report signed, passes through his hands directly.

Ali Idrissi
Founder & Independent Marine Surveyor
One surveyor. Every file, personally.
Ali Idrissi began his maritime career on the water, not behind a desk, conducting vessel surveys and cargo inspections where a wrong number has real financial and safety consequences for the people relying on it.
That grounding carried him into petrochemical product blending for traders, work that demanded a rigorous, evidence-based approach to quality assurance and regulatory compliance across complex supply chain operations.
He founded AIMS to bring that same discipline directly to clients, without layers in between. Today, he personally handles every survey instruction, from a bunker check called in overnight to a full condition survey spanning several days, with integrity, precision and customer satisfaction as the standard he set on the very first survey he carried out and hasn’t moved from since.
“You’re not routed to whoever’s available. You deal directly with me, from the first call to the signed report.”
Hands-on experience, across six survey types
No handing your file to a colleague: this is what I've personally done, again and again, since the first survey I carried out.
On/Off-Hire Surveys
I attend in person at the start and end of a charter period, producing an independent, documented condition record that protects owner and charterer alike.
Bunker Quantity Inspection
Precise, on-site measurement and verification of fuel quantities during bunkering, to head off disputes and quantity losses before they happen.
Condition Surveys
A thorough, hands-on inspection of a vessel's structural and operational condition ahead of sale, purchase, insurance or chartering decisions.
Cargo Surveys and Inspections
Detailed cargo condition, quantity and quality checks at loading and discharge: I document what I see, not what's convenient for one party.
Superintendence
On-site technical supervision of repairs, dry-docking, loading and discharge operations, and newbuilding oversight, for as long as the job needs me there.
Ship-to-Ship Operations
Safety and compliance oversight during ship-to-ship transfers, checked personally against the procedures international standards require.
Independent, and held to that standard
I carry out every survey guided by the professional standards and code of conduct upheld by internationally recognised bodies such as the International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS), and with the rigour that IACS classification societies and P&I Clubs expect from an independent report. Independence is the whole point: my findings answer to the facts, not to whichever party instructed me.
AIMS is an independent surveying practice and is not itself a classification society or P&I Club.
